The
Pit Viper System was assembled and brought into C Farm on Monday December
3, 2001. By the end of the day, the arm had been fully tested andslipped
into the containment tent. Further setup activities will continue
onDecember 4, such as setting up the remaining cameras and installing
the dustcover boot on the arm. The cover plate on the pit is scheduled
to be liftednext week. The photographs below show some of the disassembly
process atHammer (Hazardous Material Management and Emergency Response),
thesystem transport, entrance into C Farm, and cable connections in
the farm.
