Upcoming Rbx D&D Activities at Idaho National
Engineering Laboratory

A collaborative effort between Bechtel Babcock Wilcox Technologies, Inc., at Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) and Bechtel Hanford, Inc., (BHI) at Hanford was successfully initiated May 14-16, 2001, with the relocation of the INEEL/Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Rbx Compact Remote Console (CRC), TMS Tech ID 2180, to the Hanford Site, 100 F Area deactification and decommissioning (D&D) site. The CRC is being used with a BHI Brokk 330 to perform D&D operations in the 105-F Reactor fuel storage basin including excavation and potential fuel fragment clean up. This activity is a potential subsequent deployment of the CRC at another DOE site.

The Product Line Manager for this D&D activity is Dennis Haley 865-576-3965; haleydc@ornl.gov. The INEEL contact for this D&D compact remote console activity is Matthew Anderson, 208-526-4308; mathew@inel.gov.
